Stephen Olson
Executive Director
A graduate of the Alberta School of Mortuary Science, Stephen worked as a licensed funeral director and embalmer in Alberta and B.C. before being appointed as Executive Director of Royal Oak Burial Park by the Board of Cemetery Trustees in March 1997. Stephen has served on the Board of Directors of both the Funeral Service Association of BC and the Cemetery & Crematorium Association of BC. He is currently a member of the Cremation, Interment and Funeral Service Advisory Group with the Business Practices and Consumer Protection Authority of BC..

Lorraine Fracy
Client Services Supervisor
Lorraine has been in the funeral and cemetery services profession since 1996, working on the Lower Mainland and here in Greater Victoria. Before she began her career in bereavement care Lorraine was a manager and marketing specialist in the retail services sector. Lorraine joined the family service team at Royal Oak in March 2001.

Ray Laursen
Operations Supervisor
Joining the service team as a grounds person 1986 Ray was appointed to his current position in 1994. Ray is responsible for the coordination and supervision of all outside grounds staff as they provide services to client families and perform maintenance of the Burial Park.

Our Service & Care Team
Family Service & Operations
Including the above, the Burial Park employs 18 full-time and 2 or 3 seasonal workers. Our service team is responsible for the provision of service to approximately 1900 Greater Victoria families every year. Our care team maintains over 65 acres of developed cemetery grounds which have approximately 70,000 interment and memorial sites.
With the exception of the Executive Director, all Burial Park employees are members of CUPE Local 50.

Trustee
City of Victoria Councilor. A registered nurse working in the Greater Victoria area Mrs. Chandler is a well known advocate on sustainability and environmental issues. A member of the City of Victoria Council since 2005, Mrs. Chandler has been a member of the Board since 2009.

Mr. Michael Davison
Trustee
Retired lawyer with a specialty in labour relations, collective bargaining and labour law in the private sector and provincial civil service. Mr. Davison has been a member of Board since 1992.

Mr. D. Christopher Lawless
Trustee
Chief Economist for the B.C. Investment Management Corporation. Mr. Lawless holds a Masters of Economics from Carleton University and has extensive experience in finance and economics in the public sector. Mr. Lawless has been a member of the Board since January 2006.
