MEMORIAL DEALERS

Victoria has some of the oldest, continuously operating memorial dealers in BC (and one of the newest). Each of our local stonemasons are familiar with the rules and regulations related to the purchase and installation of markers and upright monuments in the Burial Park.

CELEBRANTS

Our community is also fortunate to have a number of qualified Celebrants who can assist families who do not have a connection to a church or faith based organization. These private celebrants will work one on one with a family to create a ceremony that accurately reflects and remembers the life being remembered. Each of these celebrants bring a unique and personal perspective to their work.

The FSABC is one of the strongest and most active professional associations in death care in Canada. They have an extensive website and are an excellent source for objective information about funerals, funeral planning and grief resources throughout BC.

CONSUMER PROTECTION

The oversight and enforcement of consumer protection, operational and licensing legislation for cemeteries, crematoriums and funeral service providers in B.C. is the responsibility of the Business Practices and Consumer Protection Authority. As the primary consumer protection authority in BC they can provide good information about funeral service and help to resolve consumer issues if they arise.
